Gala helps kit-up needy pupils for school

Proceeds from a Toti'lly fun gala has helped give underprivileged children a positive start to the new school year.

The gala was hosted by Annemarie’s Swim School and @Swim at Warner Beach Prep’s pool.

“We decided our November gala money will help a few underprivileged children from Toti to start the school year with new clothes, books and schoolbags,” said swim school owners Annemarie Buytendag and Elna Wessels.

Garth Lamprecht of Lords and Legends also offered to spoil the children for lunch on Tuesday, 14 January, where they received their school supplies from Edna Blom and Charlene van Zyl of Amanzimtoti Cares.

“Annemarie and Elna wanted to donate the proceeds of the gala to Amanzimtoti Cares, so we decided to help these nine underpriviledged children with school goodies,” said Edna. “Thanks to them for making this possible.”
