The project commenced on Monday, 17 February and is expected to be completed by 30 June, depending on weather conditions and the availability of special material, such as bitumen.
The following roads will be resurfaced in ward 93:
Athlone Park:
* Norwood Road – between Linscott and Dick King Road.
* Radar Crescent – between Hudd Road and a cul-de-sac.
* Abelia Road and Athlone Place – between Booth/Cypress and Warner roads.
* Grants Street – between Andrew Zondo Road and cul-de-sac.
Umbogintwini:
* Cocking Road and Prince Street – between Dickens and Oppenheimer roads.
Toti:
* Umdoni Road – between Andrew Zondo and Fynn roads.
* Eland Avenue – between Fynn Road and John Craven Place.
* Saltwood Road – between Khoto Mkhunya Road and cul-de-sac.
* Tecoma Place – between Saltwood Road and cul-de-sac.
* Crawford Place – between Somerset Way and cul-de-sac.
* Peacehaven Road – between Khotho Mkhunya Road and Lewis Drive.
Ward 97: Toti:
* Nelson Road – between Peacehaven and Khutho Mkhunya roads.
* Horseshoe Crescent – between Old Main Road/Bhengu Road and cul-de-sac.
* School Road – between Andrew Zondo and Viden Roads.
These roads have been identified and prioritised using the road asset management tool. The work involves the application of new asphalt surface. The construction involves heavy equipment. To maintain safe environment for both road users and construction personnel, traffic control measures including stop/go controls and traffic deviations will be implemented.
