Rescue dogs steal the decor show

4 Paws and a Tale Rescue spreads the word about its work at Decorex.

ANIMAL welfare organisation, 4 Paws and a Tale spread the word about its work at the Decorex show at the Durban Exhibition Centre from 20 to 23 March, at the SA Manscapes ‘second chances’ stand.

“We had the privilege of being chosen as the charity of choice by Russel Symcox who hosted an exhibition at the show. We spent some time there on Friday and Saturday with two of our dogs, Molly and rescue puppy, Stony,” said Nicky Koekemoer of 4 Paws and a Tale.

The exhibition consisted of furniture and fittings made out of wooden pellets. “A beautiful dog bed was made for Molly with her name on it. Molly and Stony stole the show, people flooded the stall and were enthralled by them. Molly strutted her stuff and was an absolute queen while Stony hogged her bed, stretched out on his back and slept the days away.”

Specially made dog biscuits were sold in aid of 4 Paws and a Tale Rescue.

Green Earth Landscaping from Ballito also supplied a big screen TV and all day photos of rescue dogs looking for their forever home were shown.

“There was lots of networking and we trust that many good forever homes will come from this opportunity we were given. A big thank you to Russel, Green Earth Landscaping and Decorex for giving us this platform to spread the word with regards to rescue dogs and cats. Don’t shop, stop and rescue.”

4 Paws cares for and feeds over 70 dogs daily in rural areas and re-homes abandoned or abused animals. Russel adopted one of his dogs, Florence, from them.

“They do such amazing work with all the beautiful animals that are desperate to love someone,” he said.
