Lions donation brings peaceful sleep to toddlers

Unique way to make mattresses for children.

Pupils at a rural creche will sleep more comfortably, thanks to a donation of mattresses from a local Lions club.

“eThekwini South Lions Club received a cash donation on condition it was used for a child’s project only, so we decided to assist Masubumbane Creche that we have been working with since last year and make pillow mattresses for the school,” said PRO, Mandy Roux.

“The mattresses were made by sewing four pillowslips together with the openings facing the same way. Using four normal sleeping pillows placed in the slip, you make a fold-up mattress, perfect for a young child.”
