Show to promote pit bull dog breed

Enter your dog in a pitbull show this weekend.

The Pit Bull Federation of South Africa’s (PBFSA) KZN club show takes place on Sunday, 6 April at Kuswag Skool.

Registration is from 8am to 9am, with the show, which includes conformation, high jump, long hang and weight pull, underway at 9am.

“We are the only pit bull show organisation in South Africa who is strongly opposed to dog fighting and any form of cruelty,” said KZN club chairman, Rudi Viljoen.

“We promote the breed by encouraging owners to rather show their dogs than fight. We also promote responsible ownership by encouraging owners to sterilise and train their pit bulls.”

The PBFSA also believes in giving back. “Our clubs hold regular food drives for local shelters and the PBFSA also does outreach and breed education,” said Rudi.

“We invite the public to our show, to come and meet the dogs and get to know the breed a bit better.”

Members of the public who have pit bulls and who want to enter them into the show are welcome to take their dogs along. They don’t have to be members of the PBFSA.
