Paper mill gets behind Hospice
Donation will help Hospice continue to offer free palliative nursing care.
Khanya Hospice received much-needed funds after a donation from Sappi Saiccor in Umkomaas.
“The general manager of Sappi Saiccor and some of his staff decided to visit Khanya Hospice, to see the work we are doing in the local community,” said CEO, Neil McDonald. “They showed their appreciation with financial support to Khanya Hospice.
During the 28 years that Hospice has been around, we have seen thousands of patients, many from the workforce of Saiccor and their families,” said Neil.
“Sappi Saiccor re-affirmed its support for Khanya Hospice in Umkomaas by making a donation of R32,000. Khanya Hospice has been one of the main beneficiary organisations of Sappi Saiccor’s corporate social investment programme for many years. The passion that drives the team at Khanya Hospice is truly admirable and we
thank them for the invaluable service they continue to provide for our local communities,” said Morris.
Hospice offers free palliative nursing care to people with life-threatening diseases and support to their families. Anyone who wants to make a donation to Hospice or offer their services voluntary, can contact Neil on 039-973-1783 or email hospice@scottnet.co.za.
