21 Club’s ‘evergreen’ lunch a sell-out

Guests will be accommodated if there is room.

THE 21 Club welcomed an unusually large number of guests to their ‘evergreen’ luncheon in March.

Shy shamrocks and lurking leprechauns enhanced the vivid green décor, paying tribute to St Patrick.

But the attraction for the eighty-four who attended was definitely guest speaker, Tamlyn-Jane Gertzen who surely could provide the solution to stemming what can only be called the tide of time.

Tamlyn-Jane was schooled in Bloemfontein and trained at the central University of Technology in the Free State where she obtained an honours degree in somatology, the study of the human body as a branch of anthropology. She practised for four years in the USA, Europe and the UK for Steiner Leisure Cruise Liners, first as a body therapist and skin care specialist and later as an on-board spa manager. Back in South Africa, Tamlyn-Jane continued as a therapist and manager. In 2011 she expanded her horizons and entered the world of medical aesthetics with Skin and Body Renewal, first as the Parkhurst branch manager and in 2013, manager of the Fourways branch. Currently, she manages the Hillcrest branch.

Tamlyn-Jane’s presentation was inspiring. Confident and well-informed, she outlined the non-surgical services offered. She encouraged participation and easily answered questions from the floor in a professional manner. She also invited those interested to chat privately.

Wendy Ward, who has not been able to attend for some time was warmly received back into the fold and new members, Jill Jones and Susie van Tonder were welcomed.

Condolences were extended to Lynn Bass, Sheilah Oates and Jackie Holdrick who lost loved ones during March.

April’s luncheon will celebrate 21 Club’s 62nd Birthday. The décor will be black, silver and gold, but the dress code is simply your favourite party outfit. It will be a market day so take along some extra money. If any member wishes to have a table, contact Golda or Jenny Perkins on 083-299-4619 as soon as possible.

This luncheon will be held on Wednesday, 23 April at Lords and Legends conference room at noon for 12.30pm. Members are reminded that confirmation of intention to attend or not and names of guests must be received by Lyn on 082-572-1328 or 031-903-4026 or Golda on 083-633-6338 or 031-916-7001 no later than Friday, 18 April.

Guests will be accommodated if there is room.
