Tea to foster closer mom-daughter relationships

As part of Africa Cares for Life's awareness campaign.

AS part of its 2014 awareness campaign, Africa Cares for Life (ACFL) will host a ‘moms and daughters tea’ at Sweet Waters Full Gospel Church in Winklespruit on Saturday, 21

June.

“At ACFL, we accept that when a daughter is emotionally affirmed by her mom, she is likely to develop a positive self-image and assert greater control over decision-making concerning

her body. We especially acknowledge the influence of this dynamic in decisions and attitudes relating to sexual conduct and consequences. It is our belief that many teenage

pregnancies and potential abortions are averted when daughters find appropriate role-models and confidantes in their moms,” said the organisation’s director, Shanno Enoch.

The event is not only targeted at mothers and daughters, but all women, single mothers, grandmothers, aunts and young women.

Guest speaker is Claire Newton, a qualified psychologist, speaker, trainer

and coach.

Tickets are R100 per person. The function starts at 9am. To book tickets contact ACFL on 031-903-2340 or office@africacaresforlife.org.za
