School shows support for Nigeria’s kidnapped girls
Over R3,000 raised.
Kingsway High School pupils and staff members showed their support for the young Nigerian schoolgirls who were kidnapped last month.
“Pupils donated a minimum of R5 and wore black in support of the girls on Friday,” said school marketer, Elaine Woor.
A total of R3,185 was raised. “This money will be donated to the Gift of the Givers, to be used to help find the young girls.”
Boko Haram kidnapped 300 schoolgirls in Nigeria last month, threatening to sell them. The incident has seen a wave of support from Durban schools and civil society in recent weeks.
