Divine intervention sees Haven change hands
Carol has a deep passion for teaching God's word.
Carol Cross has taken over the reigns at the Haven from Roy and Rosemary Minnaar.
Roy’s late wife, Rhona started the Haven 29 years ago and when she died in 2008, he took over.
Three weeks ago, Carol was the guest speaker and she heard the Lord speak to her about taking over.
Unbeknown to her, Roy had been praying for a successor since December. “I wanted a new leader to put life into it,” said Roy.
“Carol has been a regular guest speaker and visitor for 13 years, since she moved to Toti from Johannesburg.
She has a deep passion for teaching God’s word, as well as a very practical approach in applying biblical principles to deal with the everyday reality of people’s lives.
She fully embraces and represents all that can be experienced in the comfort and protection of God’s love.”
The Haven meets every Tuesday morning at 9.30am, in the Dutch Reformed Church hall, at the corner of Frost Street and Dan Pienaar Drive.
Tea and coffee is served before the meeting and everyone is welcome, English or Afrikaans, of any denomination, at no cost.
“We want to offer a place to people who don’t have a church or who can’t make Sunday or evening services, and teach them the word of God,” said Carol.
I thank the church for facilitating this part of God’s vineyard.”
The times and venue for the Haven remain unchanged.
Roy thanks the elders and ministers of the church, the various guest speakers over the years and the public for its support.
