Armed gunmen hold up store manager

Amanzimtoti police station is investigating a case of armed robbery.

The manager of a fresh fruit and vegetable retailer at Arbour Crossing was robbed of an undisclosed amount of money after returning from the bank on Tuesday, 17 June.

Dale Studzinski of Food Lovers Market said when he stopped outside his premises at about 10am, two armed men jumped out of a charcoal-coloured Ford Focus hatchback with silver rims and demanded the money bag, while the driver remained inside.

“I had got change from the bank, so it wasn’t a lot of money,” he said.

Dale suspects the three men also had a spotter car following them as security noticed a suspicious-looking white vehicle.

“We can confirm that Amanzimtoti police station is investigating a case of armed robbery, which happened at Arbour Crossing on Tuesday, 17 June. No arrest has been made at this stage,” said Col Jay Naicker of the KZN SAPS media centre.
