More criminals face jail terms

Sentences were secured for armed robbery and other crimes.

AMANZIMTOTI police detectives helped secured several convictions as of 23 June.

Carjacking: Mzamo Mbotho (25) was sentenced to 14 years’ imprisonment.

Armed robbery: Xolani Kunene (29) received five years behind bars, of which two years was suspended for two years.

Assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm: Lungani Mvune (18) received a three-year jail term.

Shoplifting: Cliftone Gopal (22) was sentenced to three years in prison, which was suspended for five years.

Housebreaking: Themba Prince Phisane (31) was sentenced to three years and Andile Aubrey Chili (22) received a two year sentence in separate cases.
