Taxi failed to stop after striking Doonside pedestrian

The man was crossing the road when the taxi struck him.

A pedestrian thought to be in his late 30s was critically injured when he was hit by a Quantum taxi at the Doonside robots at about 5:45pm today, Thursday, 3 July.

The man was crossing the road when the taxi struck him while turning into Kingsway towards Warner Beach.

It is believed the taxi drove off from the scene and had to be ‎stopped twice by a motorist.

The pedestrian’s leg was badly impacted in the collision and he was stabilised at the scene by Netcare 911 paramedics before being taken to hospital.
