Silver Dollar A went on the rampage against Reef C.

Although the first game was won by Reef C, only one more point was scored in the second round of the singles. Silver Dollar’s Nico Davies and Andries Coetzee each took an effortless full house and team mates Barry Hill and Petrus Naudé each took three of their four games. Reef C called on the last ounces of energy left, fought bravely and took the last doubles game and Silver Dollar A scored their devastating 15-3 victory.

Sapphire Cove B and Moulin Rouge A had even scores at the end of their second rounds. Moulin Rouge A changed tactic and only faltered once more in the following two rounds. Moulin Rouge A’s Pierre Boonzaier and Chris Kennedy each scored a grand full house. A final desperate attempt by Sapphire Cove B won them the last doubles game but Moulin Rouge A walked away with the glorious 12-6 victory.

A near annihilation followed as Nautical Mile A struggled to stay alive against the attack of Ollies C. The only two points taken by Nautical Mile were the second and fifth games in the singles matches. Buhle Maseko and Mthe Msomi took remorseless full houses, with team mates Thoban Shezi and Nhlaka Mkwanazi each winning three of their four games. Ollies C scored a spectacular 16–2 victory.

Warnadoone D caused a stir when they took on Reef B on their home ground. The first round left Reef B trailing by three points, but by the end of second round the teams were tie. The third round also left the opponents even. Warnadoone D allowed the last point of the fourth round to be taken by their opponents. Warnadoone D’s Rasta Ngcobo took three of his four games. With a divided doubles score, Warnadoone D scored a precocious 10-8 victory.

Kingsburgh Sports A fought a brave battle against Warnadoone A. Even games in the first round made Warnadoone A step up the pace in the second round. Kingsburgh Sports A reciprocated likewise and scores were even at the end of the third round. Laurels have no place at league and Warnadoone saw their gap, leaving Kingsburgh Sports A only able to score a possible tie. Kingsburgh Sports A’s Donovan Bowen and opponent Megan Brett each took three of their four games. The first doubles loss left Kingsburgh Sports A trailing. Warnadoone A scored a tense 10-8 victory.

Warnadoone B and Moulin Rouge D’s first and third and fourth rounds panned out even. The second round made the difference to the scores. Warnadoone B’s Justin Asec and Dennis Elle together with opponent Val Storbeck each took three of their four games. Hopes were dashed for Moulin Rouge D as Warnadoone B took the first doubles game. Warnadoone B scored a gleeful 10-8 victory.

Ollies B and Ollies D shared even points through the first three rounds. B team’s Mark Naidoo, Kershen Chami and D team’s Levin Poonan each took three of their four games. Small, crucial mistakes allowed for the clinching of sure wins to be snatched up by opponents on both sides. Ollies D lost the pattern in the fourth round. Consequently only a draw was in sight for them. The B team left absolutely nothing to chance and wolfed down the final points, scoring a rewarding 11-7 victory.

Silver Dollar B and Reef V’s third round made the difference to the singles score since the other three rounds were all tie. Reef V’s Wayne Mackay and Clint Mooiman each took three of their four games. With the match almost in the bag for Reef V, Silver Dollar put their heart into the first doubles game and were victorious, but the skill of Reef V left them the victors with a narrow 10-8 win.

Ollies A made up for their first round’s loss, by taking 10 of the next 12 games against Sapphire Cove A. Ollies A’s Cliffy Govender, Rajen Naidoo and Jaiden Nobin each took three of their four games. With a divided doubles score, Ollies A scored a satisfying 12-6 victory.
