Well done to Andy McDonald, Mervyn Conway, Mike Groom and Alec Stirzaker who came third in the Kokstad men’s fours tournament out of 22 teams. This team was put together by Liz Morgan-Davies in memory of Denis Roelofsz. They dedicated their success to Denis, but hope he can send better weather next year, as the tournament was played in very cold and wet conditions.
At TGIF on Friday evening, Glen Scorgie’s key was drawn, but did not fit the box, so the prize will go up to approximately R6,300 for next week. Heather Brown won the 100 Board, but Paul Jameson was not present to collect on the attendance draw, so it will go up to R350 for next week. Birthday wishes this week go to Phil Perkins, Gavin McClymont, Coy Schrauwen, Dudley Blount and Colin Coetzee, with extra special greetings going to the ever-young Basil Day who will be celebrating his 90th birthday this week. ABC wishes a speedy recovery to any members who may be ill, and sends condolences to our out-going vice-president, Dave Gardner on the death of his mother. Finally, good bowling to all teams playing in the Port Natal fours next weekend.
