RWFL runners tackle township to township

Good times were recorded by all members with Philani Mngadi clocking 3.08.40 and Warren Gibson coming home with 3.51.14 for the 42km.

THIS past Sunday morning saw a good turn-out of runners and walkers from Run/Walk for Life Amanzimtoti who were ready to tackle the annual township to township half and full marathons.

Cool and cloudy conditions greeted athletes at the start, but the tough hilly course would ensure that everyone's legs warmed up quickly.

Good times were recorded by members with Philani Mngadi clocking 3.08.40 and Warren Gibson coming home with 3.51.14 in the 42km.

Some of the women also tackled the 42km with Mandy Willemse finishing in 4.27.27 and Val Opperman recording 4.43.08. In the half-marathon, two women clocked excellent times with Francesca Shacklady home in 2.35.45 and Jane Wright right behind her in 2.35.47. Congratulations to all members who recorded Comrades qualifying times.
