Stray euthanased after injuring itself in firework-frenzy

SPCA bemoaned the use of fireworks that scare animals and asked residents to think of the impact on animals before deciding to use them.

Toti SPCA had to euthanase a stray dog housed in its kennels overnight on the night of Thursday, 23 October, after it injured ‎itself so badly in response to the big bangs of fireworks the previous night.

In a Facebook post earlier yesterday, Wednesday, 24 October, the SPCA bemoaned the use of fireworks that scare animals and asked residents to think of the impact on animals before deciding to use them.

The post attracted a litany of comments decrying the use of fireworks and stating that pet owners should take measures to ensure their pets are safely sedated and kept safe during this period.
