City to train ward committee members to identify fraud

As they are aware of community issues and complaints.

eTHEKWINI Municipality’s City Integrity and Investigations (CII) Unit has embarked on a training programme to educate ward committee members on how to identify fraud, corruption and maladministration in their wards, which must be reported to the CII.

Ward committee members have been identified as stakeholders at the forefront in communities and are aware of community issues and complaints.
The training of committee members will also improve the relationships with councillors by allowing both parties to work together to respond to the concerns of the public.

To report any acts of maladministration, fraud and corruption in the municipality, call 0800-202020 or email ombuds@durban.gov.za. All reports are treated confidentially
