Second garage safe bombed in a week

An undisclosed amount of cash was taken.

FOUR days after a safe was bombed at a garage in Warner Beach, robbers struck for a second time at a garage on the R603 near St Winifreds on Thursday, 12 February.

“A case of malicious damage to property is being investigated by Toti SAPS. It is alleged at about 1.20am at Kingsburgh Garage, a security officer was on duty when a silver grey BMW with two occupants armed with firearms stopped and jumped out of the vehicle. A safe was bombed and an undisclosed amount of cash was taken. They fled the scene in their getaway vehicle,” said Col Jay Naicker of the KZN police media centre.

No arrests have been made, investigations are continuing.
