Pub robbed of R9,000

The alleged thief is still at large.

A WINKLESPRUIT pub was robbed of R9,000 on Wednesday, 25 February at about 10am.

“A man entered Dalene’s Pub through a back entrance and confronted the manager. He pushed her aside, went behind the counter and took two tins which contained the previous day’s takings and fled on foot,” said Toti SAPS communications officer, Capt Charlene van der Spuy.

“The alleged thief is known and is employed as a gardener by the pub owner. As he was absent from work for three days, when he entered, the manager was under the impression that he was looking for the owner.”

No weapon was used and the victim sustained no injuries. The man is still at large.
