DUE to the recent spate of violence against foreign nationals in the city, the municipality originally cancelled all ward-based draft budget and Integrated Development Plan (IDP) review hearings and decided to only host four regional hearings.
However, the municipality has reviewed its decision as it views these consultations as vital in the progress and sustainability of the city.
The hearing in Toti will be held on Wednesday, 29 April at 6pm at the Toti Civic Centre.
Mayor James Nxumalo urges residents to attend the hearings as it is an imperative part of the budget and IDP process. “I encourage residents to attend the hearings as it is their right to voice their opinion. All comments and suggestions from the community are valuable and will be given due consideration before the 2015/16 budget and IDP are approved and adopted.”
