It’s Christmas in July at retirement home

A variety of goods will be on sale.

TO experience Christmas in July, head to Poinsettia Park Retirement Centre’s annual fete on Saturday, 4 July.

Gates open at 7am at the centre at 619 Kingsway, Toti and the community can expect a bounty of hand-made crafts and delicious treats.

“Our residents have been working hard throughout the year to make beautiful handcrafts. The community will be able to find the perfect items among our various stalls,” said PRO, Wendy Lloyd.

Books, gifts, preserves, baked goods and lots more will be on sale.

“Santa Claus will be here for the children and perhaps an angel wandering around too. There will be a postbox for children to post their letters to Santa.”

But that is not the only surprise – Yeti the Abominable Snowman, created by John and Clare Goulding is sure to delight both young and old alike.

There will be games, lucky dips and toys for the children.

After shopping, relax in the tea garden for a well-deserved break. Pancakes, boerewors rolls, toasted sandwiches, breyani and curry will be on sale.

Entertainment includes line-dancing and an exercise demonstration.

Go along and support, all funds raised are used for the upkeep of the centre. Get there early, as gates close at noon.
