A detective investigating a rape that occurred in Malangeni near Umzinto is seeking assistance.
Warrant Officer Alex Ngcobo of the Umzinto Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences unit (FCS) would like to interview Maboni Andries Vezi as he may be able to assist in the investigation.
Vezi’s last known address was in Malangeni near Umzinto. He is of average build and about 23 years of age. W/O Ngcobo appeals to Vezi or anyone who knows of his present whereabouts, to contact him urgently on 039-974 6500, 082-334-8662 or 083-769-3521.

On 5 July, a 23-year-old woman from Malangeni was on her way to her boyfriend’s residence when a mutual friend pretended to escort her safely as it was getting dark. However, the man allegedly dragged her into the bushes where he raped her. A case of rape was registered by the Umzinto SAPS for investigation.
