Children’s art competition comes of age

Prizes up for grabs

BUDDING artists are urged to enter Kingsburgh Child and Family Welfare Society’s annual children’s art competition.

Now in its 21st year, the theme is ‘let’s celebrate’.

The art competition’s milestone year coincides with the society’s anniversary, as it turns 70 in November.

“It is a good opportunity for children to get creative by putting their artistic thoughts on paper,” said art convener, Oriel Andrews.

All art will be collected on Wednesday, 23 September. It will go on display at Seadoone Mall, from Monday, 28 September to Monday, 5 October.

Entry is R5 each. In 2014, in excess of 1,000 paintings and drawings were entered.

Judges are artists from the Upper South Coast Art Association. Lots of prizes are up for grabs.
