Local gymnasts achieve at KZN competition

Four gymnasts will represent KZN at the national games in October.

FUSION Rhythmic gymnasts, levels one to three competed in the KZN provincial competition and were awarded medals according to their overall scores on Saturday, 5 September.

In 1evel one U7, Hannah Hall placed fifth, Oratile Moumakwa fourth, Danielle Chandler third, Emma Frank second and Abby Allen first. They all received gold medals.

In the level one U8 category, Mia Pletinkx received a bronze medal; Wandile Awande Ngcobo received silver medals; Erin McCalgan received gold and Jessica McCalgan placed first overall and received a gold medal.

In the level one U9 category, Silke Bester placed second overall with a gold medal. In level one U10 category, Keisha Ramiah placed second overall with a gold medal and in level one O11, Mia de Beer placed first overall and received gold.

In level two U9 category, Danielle Smal earned bronze. In level two U10, Amahle Dlamini scooped silver and Kayla Steyn earned a gold medal and a first place overall.

In level 3 U10 group, Lanesca Esterhuizen placed third overall and received a silver medal. In level 3 U11, Zoe Praschma placed second overall and earned a silver medal.

In level 3 O11, Lulu Kweyama silver received medal and Danielle Rossouw placed second overall and also received a silver medal.

In level 6 U15, Kelly Lightfoot placed first overall and in level 6 O15 Amarah Hoosain placed first overall.

In level 7 O15, Zas Mkhize was second overall.

Samara Lutchman in the level 8 O15 category, as well as Kelly, Zas and Amarah will represent KZN at the Rhythmic National Gymnastics Games in Johannesburg in October. They will be accompanied by personal coach, Jess Botha.
