Fire fighters help cleanse subway

Thank you to those who came out in support.

In support of a community initiative to clean and re-paint the pedestrian subway in Warner Beach that links Kingsway to Elcock Road and Subway beach, eThekweni Municipality’s emergency services washed down the subway as its contribution to the Heritage Day programme.

This after a discussion between ward 97 councillor, Andre Beetge, division commander, Narend Birjalal and station commander Paul Audie.

“Despite heavy rain and with the help of Frank Mkhungo, Shaun Reed, Kwenzokuhle Mkhize, Sibusiso Qwabe, Mandlenkosi Xulu, Sifiso Mtshali and the station commander on Thursday evening we washed down the subway and removed dirt and grime that would otherwise have taken days to address,” said Cllr Beetge.

“A big thank you to the team and those who came out in support or who donated chemicals and hot food on the evening.”
