Welfare’s art contest comes of age
All the R5 entry fees collected from entrants go towards providing food for those less fortunate.
Kingsburgh Child and Family Welfare (KCFW) thanks all who helped make the 21st year of its schools art competition a success.
A total of about 950 entries were received from various Toti schools and prizegiving was held at Seadoone Mall on Saturday, 3 October.
“Thanks to Seadoone Mall manager, Beverley Koekemoer for allowing us to display the children’s art,” said KCFW chairman, Jenny Smith.
“To all the shops who kindly allowed us to use their window space, we thank them for having that community spirit and to Hypersure Insurance that has sponsored this competition for 21 years, we salute you.”
The real stars of the art show were all the local pupils who created beautiful works of art. “It’s not all about winning, but to know you have contributed in your own way to a worthy cause,” said Jenny.
All the R5 entry fees collected from entrants go towards providing food for those less fortunate with the community.
“Like so many other organisations, we at KCFW are not government-funded, so projects like this are very important.”
