Early Christmas lunch plans for AWI
We are planning a get together at Illovo Nursery for tea on 12 January.
PRESIDENT of Amanzimtoti Women’s Institute Muriel Hartwig welcomed all members and bade special welcome to prospective member Myrna Olyott at the general meeting on 10 November.
Muriel sent Marj Archibald a birthday card for her 91st birthday on 11 November.
Rhea Gwyn will be organising a lift for Marj to attend the women’s institute in Pinetown.
Members are reminded to remember to take old Christmas, birthday or other occasions cards to Betty Nilsson for recycling. Members are advised that the annual subscription fees for 2016 will be R160.
Don’t forget the AWI Christmas lunch at Giselle’s on 8 December at 11.30am for noon. The cost of lunch will be R85 per head. There will be a Christmas hamper raffle at R5 a ticket. At the Christmas luncheon, the 2016 programme will be available at a cost of R5 each.
Pat McCann reminds WI members that there will be an art exhibition held at 305 Kingsway Guesthouse from 12 to 17 December at 9am to 5pm.
AWI welcomed its speaker, Marie Bowker, to share details about her trip to Israel. It was a sincere and informative talk. If you had visited Israel or not, you could visualise her travels and actually feel yourself being with her, by the description of the places she visited. Thank you Marie for taking time to give everyone such an inspiring talk.
