With the heat of the summer months upon us, the Community Crime Prevention Organisation (CCPO) warns residents to beware of leaving their windows open.
“I know it is hot and you want to leave your windows open for a breeze, especially at night, but we want residents to be extra careful, as an open window is an invite for opportunist thieves,” said CCPO operations manager, Leon Joone.
“Do not leave valuables by open windows, or in plain sight in your vehicle. If you are having visitors this festive season, inform them not to leave their valuables in their cars or take them to the beach.
If you are going away on holiday, inform your security service provider.”
