Curb fireworks use this festive season

Fireworks are only permitted between 11.45pm on 31 December and 12.15am on 1 January.

The Fireworks Action Campaign Toti (FACT) team reminds residents and visitors that no tolerance will be displayed towards the discriminate use of fireworks this festive season.

“FACT thanks Sapphire Coast Tourism and other contributors for sponsoring our flyers this year,” said Lee Lewis.

“Visitors and partygoers are once again reminded that fireworks are only permitted for 30 minutes between 11.45pm on 31 December and 12.15am on 1 January. No other times are allowed.

It is illegal to detonate fireworks on beaches, public areas and communal properties. Why not rather donate your fireworks money to a charity this festive season?”

Report illegal fireworks to 031-361-0000 or email totifireworks.campaign@gmail.com.

On its flyer, FACT also reminds visitors to:

* Ignore illegal car guards.

* No car washing is permitted on the streets or in parking areas.

* Listen to lifeguards at all time.

* Only swim in designated areas between beacons.

* Swimming is only permitted between 6am and 6pm.

* No fires are allowed on the beach.
