Car thief caught redhanded

Toti SAPS, Metro Police, ET Rapid Response and the CCPO apprehended him with the stolen goods in his possession.

A thief was caught red-handed breaking into a vehicle after an alert Community Crime Prevention Organisation (CCPO) guard spotted him on Tesday afternoon, 12 April.

CCPO committee member, George Snodey said the patrolling guard called for back-up after seeing the thief break into a vehicle in Dan Pienaar Drive at about 3pm.

“Toti SAPS, Metro Police, ET Rapid Response and the CCPO apprehended him with the stolen goods in his possession.”

Later that afternoon an off-duty CCPO guard saw a robbery in progress near the Winklespruit train station.

“He gave a description of the thief over the radio and Toti SAPS and the CCPO found the thief and apprehended him. A cellphone he had stolen was also recovered.”
