Two die in R612 crash with truck
Paramedics had to extract the bodies from the wreckage using the jaws of life
Two people were killed and two others sustained moderate to minor injuries after a truck and a vehicle collided on the R612 at Umzinto road in the Braemer area on Friday afternoon, 13 May at about 5pm.
While the cause of the accident was unclear, Netcare911 and other paramedic services arrived to find two people had already died due to the extensive injuries they sustained.
The victims were entrapped in their car and had to be freed from the wreckage using the jaws of life. The two people who sustained moderate to minor injuries were stabilised and transported to a nearby hospital.
