
A taxi rank manager was shot dead on Monday morning, 23 May at Isipingo Rail.
“At about 9.50, a 34-year-old man who was well known in the Isipingo Taxi Association and who was the appointed taxi rank manager was shot and killed in Church Lane, opposite the Umlazi F and J section taxi rank,” said Isipingo SAPS communication officer, Captain David Ragavan.
“Three unknown men, all armed, approached the deceased and opened fire on him. He died on the scene after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds all over his body.”
The motive for the killing and the suspects are unknown.
A case of murder is being investigated by Isipingo SAPS. Anyone who has any information about the incident is asked to contact detective W/O Teddy Nadesan on 084-517-3927 or 031-913-3438. “The information supplied will be regarded as strictly confidential and the informant may be financially rewarded by the police for information leading to arrests and convictions,” said Capt Ragavan.
