Self-defence workshop hits the mark

Sweetwaters Church invited Morne Swanepoel of CombatCoaching to conduct a women’s only self-defence workshop on Saturday, 21 May.

The workshop was attended by more than 40 women.

Morne first gave a lecture covering crime and making participants aware of what their reality is and what they are up against. Video footage of real-life situations were analysed and learnt from.

“The women were then exposed to two hours of hands-on physical training, dealing with various scenarios from abductions and sexual attacks to surviving knife attacks,” said Morne.

“The workshop was a huge success.”
