A sideswipe crash occured between four cars travelling in opposite directions

Six people were injured in a sideswipe crash which occured between four cars travelling in opposite directions on Kingsway opposite the Total Garage at about 5pm today.
A bakkie travelling northbound and carrying a family of three is believed to have collided with three cars before it crossed the road and struck a cement light pole, flooring it.

Of the six people injured, all of whom were hospitalised, two sustained moderate injuries.
The others sustained less serious injuries, according to Netcare 911 spokesman Chris Botha. Netcare, Sizamed, provincial ambulance services and ER24 transported the injured to hospital.
Metro Police officials were still at the scene about half an hour later.
Thanks to all services who attended and all others who assisted at the scene.
