Peep inside the world of miniatures

Three miniature scenes will be raffled off to raise funds for Jona Vaughan Home.

The wonderful world of miniatures will once again be on display when the Durban Association of Miniature Enthusiasts (DAME) hosts an exhibit at Toti library activities room on Saturday, 29 April from 9am to 4pm.

The event is held on the same Saturday as the Highland Gathering in the hope of attracting support from the thousands who will attend the Gathering.

Entrance to the exhibit is free, where visitors can enjoy an impressive display from Toti members Lynette Schultz, Jennifer Hogno, Viv Jarratt and her two grand-daughters, Annelize van der Elst, Antoinette Potgieter and the club’s two youngsters, Daena and Bella Piper.

“There will be a sales table with miniature-related items on offer,” said Lynette.

“Every year we feature a raffle to raise funds for charity and this year we will raffle off a beautiful mini pub scene, sewing room in a frame and work bench to raise funds for Jona Vaughan Home for the intellectually disabled.

Tickets cost only R10 and as there is no entry fee, we hope all the visitors will donate R10 for a raffle ticket. We hope to sell as many tickets as possible.”

For more information on the exhibit or the club, call Lynette on 083-336-2357.
