While many shoppers took advantage of the one day only deals, several larger retailers including Makro, have extended their special price offerings to the entire weekend.
At Galleria Mall, well managed crowd control measures helped to ease the crowds of shoppers that turned up to take advantage of what is fast becoming one of the country’s biggest shopping days.
The mall clearly learnt lessons from last year’s epic turnout on Black Friday, when huge crowds descended on especially the Checkers Hyper entrance.
“We have done everything in our power to ensure our shoppers experience a pleasant shopping experience,” said Anusha Timul, marketing manager at Galleria Mall. “Most of the retailers have bumper Black Friday deals and shoppers are taking advantage of the amazing deals.”
Shoppers thronged at nearby malls, including Seadoone Mall to take advantage of their sale priced items.
