IT took an hour and a half for police to respond to a rape victim’s call at Saiccor Village last Thursday.
The woman (59), of Aquileia Avenue, was accosted in her home at around 1.15pm.
As soon as her attacker left, she contacted the police. She then phoned her husband and her son who works in New Germany.
Her son arrived on the scene before the police. The delay in response time has resulted in an SAP departmental enquiry. The house is a mere two kilometres from the police station.

CRUDE oil has been found along the shoreline of Pipeline Beach and there has been at least one report of a dead sea bird.
The bird, a gannet, was found last weekend by local photographer Jo Toerien.
The bird was surrounded by what locals know as ‘tanker bilge washings’.
Although there were still signs of the oil on the beach on Tuesday evening, Coastal Anti-Pollution Association chairman, Jack Pellew, said Warner Beach was clear.
