FRIDAY, 26 APRIL TO SUNDAY, 28 APRIL: For thrill-seekers, bike lovers and music fans the South Coast Bike Fest takes place in Margate with even more new attractions than in previous years. Fans can look forward to a bike launch, sunset beach party and stunts by the stars, to name just a few. There will also be a village market, expo zones and food courts to complete the entertainment.

SUNDAY, 28 APRIL: Amanzimtoti’s partially sighted and blind bowlers are urged to attend the Visually Impaired Bowlers Association’s weekly bowling afternoon at Berea Bowling Club in Durban every Sunday from 1pm to 4pm. Blind and partially sighted people who are prepared to join this association can look forward to an afternoon of fun and fellowship playing bowls. THURSDAY, 2 MAY: Burgers and bowls by floodlight takes place at Amanzimtoti Bowling Club – it’s a fun team game that’s easy to learn. Registration takes place at 5pm and there are bowls available. Players should wear smooth soled takkies or sandals. Games last about 90 minutes, then relax on the veranda to great music and enjoy a drink and a burger. Cost is R25 for the game and R30 for a burger afterwards.

FRIDAY, 3 MAY: Probus members will return to tranquil, stunning surroundings at the Umbovango nature reserve for their next meeting at 9.20am for 10am. There will be an interesting speaker. Bring along your meat, salads, drinks and eating utensils for the braai after the meeting. Contact secretary Cliff Hole on 076-542-5082 for further information.

SATURDAY, 4 MAY: The Sanctuary of the Great White Light, 9 Barrow Street, Umkomaas will hold its first Clairvoyant Day of the year, starting at 9am to 2.30pm. To make a booking, contact Gayle on 083-654-5261.

SATURDAY, 4 MAY: Kingsburgh Lions holds its monthly fleamarket at St Mary’s Anglican Church, 157 Kingsway, Warner Beach from 7.30am to 10.30am. There are plenty of bargains, from clothes to household goods, books and much more. Pre-cooked frozen meals, savoury tarts, milk tarts and koeksisters, as well as vetkoek, pancakes, egg and bacon rolls, and refreshments are available. SUNDAY, 7 JULY: The 10th annual Scottburgh classic car show takes place at Scottburgh High School from 9am. Entrance is R40 per person and R20 for pensioners and scholars.
