Galleria Mall shopper tests positive for coronavirus
Galleria Mall remains fully open for trade and is committed to creating a safe shopping environment.
A shopper at Galleria Mall tested positive for coronavirus this week.
A release posted on the mall’s Facebook page, “A responsible customer, who recently visited Game only at Galleria Mall, felt it pertinent to alert management and Game Stores of a positive Covid-19 test result. The origin of where the shopper contracted the virus is not known to us.”
General manager of the mall, Kurt Hoggan said, “We are all in this pandemic together, as such it is the responsibility of each individual to ensure they practice the Covid-19 guidelines outlined by World Health Organisation. As a shopping mall we are ensuring all protocols are met and urge shoppers to only come to the mall if it is absolutely necessary.”
According to the release the necessary steps regarding stringent hygiene and disinfection processes are being followed and all relevant authorities have been notified.

“In accordance with government protocols, the store involved will be implementing screening of the staff members who came into contact with the customer and will be closing the store to do a full decontamination and sanitisation within the store. The staff members are in quarantine and await their test results. In addition to Galleria Mall’s usual nightly deep cleaning regime, further disinfection measures have been implemented throughout the entire mall”, the release further stated.
“We wish the customer a speedy recovery.
