Crocworld’s new additions on display
The team will be sharing live feeds every Friday at 11am via the ‘Crocworld Conservation Centre’ Facebook page where Rodrigues will be joined by his Crocworld teammates, reptile curator, James Wittstock, and bird curator, Ryne Ferguson.
During lockdown, Crocworld Conservation Centre has welcomed a number of new additions and the staff is excited to introduce them to the public virtually.
The centre has engaged with audiences throughout the month of June with its popular live video talks and digital visitors can look forward to edu-taining content as the centre’s resident experts introduce the latest additions.
Martin Rodrigues, manager of Crocworld Conservation Centre said, “We started our live stream sessions at the beginning of South Africa’s lockdown and we have seen a massive spike in the number of viewers who are keen to keep updated on what’s happening at the centre. Throughout this time, we have continued to care for our animals, as well as receiving a number of new additions to the centre, and we’re excited to introduce these new characters to our audience.”

The team will be sharing live feeds every Friday at 11am via the ‘Crocworld Conservation Centre’ Facebook page where Rodrigues will be joined by his Crocworld teammates, reptile curator, James Wittstock, and bird curator, Ryne Ferguson. They will share unique insights on the day’s featured animal, as well as feeding demonstrations. In addition to Facebook talks, the team will send out videos, images and interesting posts throughout the week, featuring animal interactions, plant discussions, new attractions and other topics related to the centre’s many natural wonders.
“We look forward to further opening the window into the daily operation at our centre, and we are excited to share our passion for sharing conservation, education and environmental tourism with all of our loyal supporters,” added Martin.
On Friday, 19 June, West African Dwarf Crocodile will be showcased after returning to the centre from being loaned to another facility. Friday, 26 June, new addition, Woolly-Necked Stork will be displayed.
