Amanzimtoti musicians release EP

The music is sung in either isiZulu or English.

Dogzyard Musik Live recently released its EP, Ses’fi kile, and is eager to share its passions with the community. The talented group is made up of five members from Amanzimtoti and surrounding areas.

Nduduzo Mngadi, Sthabile Khuzwayo, Nhlanhla Mthiyane, Thandeka Majola and Khanyisani Ngcobo are the talented musicians who decided to combine their skills.  Dogzyard has been running since 2008 and the music on Ses’fi kile was first drafted last year. However, hard lockdown put a hold on the group’s plans.

The EP is made of five tracks, UngoWami, iNkululeko, Mama, iSkhathi and Thandaza which took about a year to create.  Each of the songs was carefully written to spread positive and powerful messages about various topics that impact society.

Messages such as standing up against gender-based violence, pursuing dreams and love are featured throughout the EP. The music is sung in either isiZulu or English.  Nduduzo, who has been rapping for many years, penned the lyrics for Mama. However, he soon realised that the song needed a female’s vocals and Sthabile was the right fit.

“The group is made up of mostly young people who are incredibly passionate about sharing their talents. We appeal to the public to support us and our dreams. We also need some investors who are willing to assist us in releasing more music. We are incredibly proud of the music and are eager to share this with the community. We also hope to collaborate with other local singers and rappers.”
