Protests block N2 at Umgababa

Police were busy clearing the road and monitoring the situation.

MOTORISTS were forced to seek alternative routes on Friday morning after a number of heavy duty vehicles blocked the N2 at Umgababa.

This is is believed to be part of ongoing protests under the hashtag #ShutDownKZN that started after former President Jacob Zuma turned himself in to be imprisoned for contempt of court on Wednesday night. Speaking on SA FM on Friday morning, provincial police spokesperson Colonel Thembeka Mbele said the police were busy clearing the road and monitoring the situation.
