True to form, Doug’s birds make their way home in first place

Once again Toti members flew very well against stiff Durban competition.

DUE to the recent unrest, the pigeon race from Marble Hall was postponed to Saturday, July 24.

The added rest seemed to have come at a good time for Doug Fry’s old bird team as they romped home to take first, second and fourth positions in the club and first, second and fifth positions in the greater Durban Federation.

The cherry on the top for Doug was winning the club pools and first and third in the federation nominations.

Basil Tait in Umkomaas was a close third and was placed fourth in the federation.

Once again Toti members flew very well against stiff Durban competition. The birds were liberated in Marble Hall at 8:00 in good, but very icy conditions.

The first bird arrived at 15:45 and were in perfect condition after flying non-stop for 560km at an average speed of 73km/hr into a south westerly head wind.
