The hospice is in dire need of funds to keep the organisation afloat.
Hoping to create a fruitful partnership between Amanzimtoti Warhammer Club and Khanya Hospice.
Founder of the Warhammer club, Carl Coetzee, hopes to raise much-needed funds for the organisation through a virtual auction.
“People can buy Warhammer figurines and paint them and then we can auction it for funds. We also hope that the hospice will become a venue for the club meetings. We are calling for volunteers to paint figurines,” said Carl.
The hospice is in dire need of funds to keep the organisation afloat.
“Due to the pandemic, we are unable to have fundraising events and we are looking for people to host small events for us. The community can host tea parties to raise funds for us as well. We have had people from lower Illovo host events for us and it has been great,” said CEO of Khanya Hospice, Neil McDonald.
Khanya Hospice provides palliative home-based care to those living with life-threatening conditions.
“We need cash for the day-to-day running of the hospice. We usually have a fundraising initiative once a year but we are unable to do that now. Our bills need to be paid, our charity shops are also closed and the petrol price has gone up. We need to pay the hands that do the work.”
Anyone wanting to donate to Khanya Hospice can call Neil on 083-597-8985 or email hospice@scottnet.co.za.
