Vehicles recovered due to quick response

Later that night at about 20:26pm the TRT responded for an activation by Tracker Connect for a Toyota Hilux which had been hijacked in Lotus Park, Isipingo.

Stolen and hijacked vehicles were recovered on Wednesday, September 1.  At about 16:42pm the ET Tactical Response Team (TRT) was alerted by Tracker Connect, regarding the activation of a Toyota Etios which was stolen from the Berea area.

“Our TRT joined in on the track and managed to recover the stolen vehicle which was left abandoned in Kwamakhuta. When the suspects realised our TRT, Metro Police and Tracker Connect were hot on their heels. The vehicle was secured and handed over to Metro Police and Tracker Connect for further processing,” said operations manager for ET, Louis van Ryneveld.

Later that night at about 20:26pm the TRT responded for an activation by Tracker Connect for a Toyota Hilux which had been hijacked in Lotus Park, Isipingo.

“The vehicle was promptly recovered abandoned in the Sobonakhona (Folweni) area by our ET Rapid Response TRT, Alpha Alarms, SAPS Integrated Vehicle Task Team, SAPS Flying Squad, Tracker Connect and Metro Police K9. Fortunately, the victim was unharmed, and was taken to SAPS by relatives after being dropped off by suspects in the Folweni area.”
