Give back to crime fighters this festive season
An appeal is made for the community to dig deep into their pockets to put a smile on the faces of those who risk their lives daily.

Despite a turbulent start, the Christmas gift appeal has officially taken off. The initiative hopes to spread the festive cheer by sponsoring a gift to members of local security companies. This is the seventh year that the successful initiative has been running. An appeal is made for the community to dig deep into their pockets to put a smile on the faces of those who risk their lives daily.
“Our little town is so fortunate to have three incredible companies who work together to combat crime in our area. With your help we hope to spread a little Christmas cheer and make Christmas extra special for the supervisors, guards, street patrollers and response officers from CCPO, Blue Security and ET Rapid Response, who put their lives on the line for us,” said the organiser of the event, Reena Solomon.
This year a new but familiar face has hopped on board to make the initiative a success, Ruth Majola.
She said, “It’s been a tough year for everyone, but even the smallest amount would be appreciated. We will be wrapping up on November 14, as we need to hand out all the gifts before the CCPO office closes on Friday, December 3.”
Contributions can be deposited into the following account: CCPO Donation Account, FNB Cheque Account, account number: 62676701777, branch code: 220127, reference Christmas and your full name. Email proof of deposit to reenasol@mweb.co.za.
