Livestock graze in Doonside

Questions to eThekwini Municipality about why the bylaws concerning stray livestock are not being enforced have previously gone unanswered.

A HERD of cows could be seen today, September 29, right in the middle of Doonside being driven up Rockview Road by its herder.

With roads being wet, cars had to swerve to avoid a collision as the scene looked like an accident waiting to happen. Questions to eThekwini Municipality about why the bylaws concerning stray livestock are not being enforced have previously gone unanswered, but ward 97 councillor, André Beegte has said the problem of the wandering livestock has reached a point where the city cannot continue to ignore it. He said plans were afoot to establish a municipal pound.
