The SUN managed to track down Stuart Green who had appeared in the newspaper as a young boy in 1971.

Stuart Green had been accepted at the prestigious Drakensberg Boys’ Choir School where he was to start Standard 5 (Grade 7).

Stuart Green now.

When contacted recently, Green was surprised that the SUN had managed to trace him down. He was never aware that he had once appeared in the newspaper and when he was shown the article, it was the first time he had ever seen it – 50 years after it appeared.

“I enjoyed the four years I spent singing with the Drakensberg Boys’ Choir. It was an awesome experience that a young boycould wish for,” he said.

Green toured extensively with the choir. Besides singing in all four provinces of South Africa of that time, the choir also visited Israel, Mozambique and Namibia. After school he qualified as an auto-electrician and spent some time overseas before coming back to work as a DJ, proving that the music bug never left him.
