The readers were also given an opportunity to give feedback about the SUN. Johan Roberts said he has been a proud SUN reader for many years and the special birthday issue brought back many fond memories.
“I’m always looking forward to the latest copy of the SUN in my mailbox. These stories from years ago are awesome. Congratulations on your birthday and keep up the good work,” he said.
Joan van Rensburg said she remembers the house that now houses the SUN offices at 33 Main Road, Doonside.
“I still recall when a family lived there, it was just a normal house,” said Joan.
The SUN’s editor, Roelien D’Amico said it was great to see the support the community has for the South Coast SUN.
“We all worked hard putting this edition together and it is so heartwarming to hear our readers telling us how much they liked reading the old stories, a big thank you,” said Roelien.
